Matthew Fleming, MD
Matthew Fleming is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical and surgical dermatology. With decades of experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin conditions, Dr. Fleming is committed to providing thoughtful, personalized dermatologic care with a strong emphasis on prevention, early detection, and long-term skin health. He takes a patient-centered approach to care, partnering closely with each individual to understand their concerns, answer questions, and develop treatment plans tailored to their unique needs.
Dr. Fleming earned his undergraduate degree from Williams College in 1978 before receiving his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 1982. He completed his dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate in 1986, followed by advanced fellowship training in dermatopathology at Cleveland Clinic in 1988. His extensive education and clinical training have provided him with a strong foundation in both the medical and surgical management of skin disease.
Dr. Fleming has a particular clinical interest in caring for patients at high risk for melanoma, including those with dysplastic nevus syndrome or a personal history of melanoma. He is especially passionate about skin cancer prevention and early detection, helping patients stay proactive about their skin health through routine screenings and close monitoring when needed.
His medical dermatology services include the diagnosis and treatment of acne, contact dermatitis, eczema, hair loss, moles, psoriasis, rashes, rosacea, and other common and complex skin conditions. He also provides comprehensive skin cancer screenings and evaluations for changing or concerning lesions. In addition to medical dermatology, Dr. Fleming performs a variety of in-office surgical procedures, including cryotherapy, electrodessication and curettage, and excisional surgery.
