Angiomas
What are angiomas?
Angiomas, also known as hemangiomas, are benign tumors that develop from blood vessels or lymphatic vessels. These growths typically manifest as small red or purple spots on the skin. Common types of angiomas include cherry angiomas, spider angiomas, and venous lakes.
While most angiomas do not require treatment, some individuals may opt to have them removed for cosmetic reasons or if they cause discomfort.
Vbeam Perfecta Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) Treatment for Angiomas
Vbeam, a pulsed dye laser, is a popular choice for treating cherry angiomas. The Vbeam laser works by targeting the blood vessels in the angioma, causing them to coagulate and eventually be reabsorbed by the body. This results in the reduction or complete removal of the angioma without damaging the surrounding skin.
The treatment is typically well-tolerated and requires little to no downtime. Multiple sessions may be needed to achieve optimal results, depending on the size and depth of the angioma.
