Laser Therapies

What to Expect from a Laser Therapy Appointment

Dermal Optical Thermolysis (DOT) therapy can be performed safely on nearly anyone with signs of aging skin or acne scarring. DOT Therapy laser utilizes a “dot” pattern to create thousands of microscopic perforations in the skin while leaving the areas around each “dot” intact. This allows the skin to heal more quickly than with many traditional resurfacing lasers.

After the procedure, your skin will be red, similar to a sunburn. The redness continues for a few days. In most cases, you may resume applying makeup after about three days. By day three or four, you will experience some peeling as your fresher skin appears. In most cases, your skin will return to its normal appearance after 7 to 10 days. Some may experience swelling and/or crusting of the skin.

Fraxel Re:pair

Fraxel Re:pair laser treatments provide fractional deep dermal ablation (FDDATM) using innovative laser technology. The effects are similar to a succession of traditional laser treatments, but with less risk. It is ideal for resurfacing soft tissues, improving pigmentation, eliminating redness and broken blood vessels, and smoothing wrinkles or crow’s feet around the eyes. Fraxel Re:pair has been approved by the FDA to treat a variety of cosmetic conditions.

Fraxel Re:store

Fraxel Re:store laser treatments are designed to target aging and damaged skin, by stimulating the body’s natural production of new collagen and skin cells. Fraxel re:store laser treatments are best for general resurfacing on the face, neck, chest and hands. We have seen significant results in cases of acne, scarring, age and brown spots, melasma, pigmentation and fine wrinkles. Healing time is quick. It is safe for all skin types and has been approved by the FDA for treating a variety of cosmetic conditions.

High Frequency

High Frequency is a quick, effective procedure used for the treatment of acne. A glass electrode is applied to the skin, creating a “sparking” effect. This creates a germicidal effect, eliminating bacteria and inflammation deep within the pimple. Discomfort is minimal, with no downtime or recovery period.

Results are seen after just one treatment. Patients typically notice immediate reduction in inflammation, with decreased redness in the days to follow.

This is an excellent service to be performed two to three days before an important event, or in general to help diminish acne.
